About Me

My name is David Smith, and I’m a half Bulgarian, half Texan FPV Pilot.

I was born and raised in Austin, graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M. Since graduating my career has been incredibly dynamic, ranging from design engineering with SpaceX to working on mass Data Infrastructure projects for major companies such as Pfizer, PG&E, and Shell.

My creative journey started when I was very young, and like my career has always been changing. As a child I was very involved in music, and as I grew older and started exploring the world, I picked up photography as a way to document my travels. This quickly turned into an obsession, and led me to purchase my first DJI photography drone in 2017. Since then the passion has only continued growing.

Eventually I stumbled across FPV in early 2020, which was the perfect combination of technical and creative challenge. I’m able to lean on my engineering background to design, build, and fix custom FPV drones, and then take those drones with me around the world to film and create beautiful visual arts!

My hope is to share the amazing feeling you get when you see the world thru FPV with as many people as possible!
